Yes, any time the temperature of the outside glass surface drops below the outdoor dew-point temperature, condensation on the outside surface can occur. The condensation can occur in several different temperature and humidity scenarios. In certain situations, advanced coatings on today's high-performance windows can cause the condensation to happen more frequently compared to uncoated glass. The condensation does not hurt the window and is happening because the glass coating is keeping the window surface cooler by reflecting heat back out of the house or by reflecting the heat back inside the house which can save heating and cooling costs. For example, with today's high-performance windows, an interior cool temperature can cool the surface of the exterior pane, where a high exterior relative humidity can cause condensation.
