Homes that are independently verified to be ENERGY STAR are eligible to receive a label. EPA supplies the ENERGY STAR labels to accredited home energy Rating Providers, who in turn provide them to the local home energy Rater, the homebuilder, or in some cases, the homebuyer.
All ENERGY STAR homes should have a blue ENERGY STAR label affixed to the breaker box (or other suitable location in the home) and a certificate provided to the homebuyer at the time that the home is built. The blue ENERGY STAR label should list the name of the Rater or rating company who performed the inspections. The Rater should be able to provide copies of their inspection reports completed for the home.
EPA does not receive or retain information (including addresses) about individual homes that are ENERGY STAR certified. As a result, we are unable to reproduce or replace any documentation for the certification of your home. If your home does not have the required label or you were not provided with a certificate, please contact your builder, rater, or real estate professional for assistance.
