Using the appropriate Energy Performance Indicator, a plant that achieves a rating of 75 or above, and meets the other eligibility criteria, can earn the ENERGY STAR. As with commercial buildings, manufacturing plants are awarded the ENERGY STAR for a specific year, and are eligible to reapply one year after the date of the last energy data entered on a Statement of Energy Performance submitted in a prior application.
